The views of ancient experts on English grammar

The origin of English Grammar can be attributed to many scholars, but some of the major contributors are:


1. William Bullokar (1531-1609): He is credited with writing the first rules of English grammar.


2. Robert Cawdrey (1537-1604): He composed the first dictionary of the English language, called "A Table Alphabeticall."


3. John Puttenham (John Palsgrave, 1480-1554): He wrote the first book showing the similarities between the English and French languages.


Apart from these scholars, many others have also contributed to the development of English grammar.
